Our Medical

Weight Loss Service

WHAT WE OFFER

Medical Weight Loss

Being overweight is a medical condition that now has effective nonsurgical treatment options.

How It Works:

  • Book an appointment with one of our licensed nurse practitioners. Your provider will perform a comprehensive medical exam to determine if a weight loss plan with prescription medications is right for you.  Our program requires regular visits and monitoring.

  • The cost of the visit/program are paid out of pocket, while your health insurance generally covers the lab tests and medications.

  • If you do not qualify for medications with use of your health insurance, there are other alternative prescriptions available which can be discussed on a case by case basis.

What are Semaglutide, Wegovy, Zepbound, Saxenda, Ozempic, and Mounjaro?

These medications are Glucagon- Like Peptides (GLP-1). These GLP-1 medications are effective in weight loss by delaying gastric emptying and enhancing the sensation of fullness, thus decreasing food intake. These agents have been successfully studied in obese, non-diabetic patients. Weight loss results can be seen as early as 1-2  weeks into treatment.

What are the Side effects?

Side effects are usually mild and may include: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness, bloating, belching, gas, and heartburn.

WEGOVY® (semaglutide)

  • Once weekly injectable GLP-1 indicated for the treatment of overweight and obesity.

ZEPBOUND® (tirzepatide)

  • Once weekly injection indicated for the treatment of chronic weight management in adults with obesity. OZEMPIC® (semaglutide)

  • Once weekly injectable GLP-1 indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and is safe and effective for weight loss.

MOUNJARO® (tirzepatide)

  • Once weekly injectable medication that works similarly to the other drugs in the GLP-1 family, but is also an agonist for a second peptide hormone called GIP. It is indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and is safe and effective for weight loss.

SAXENDA® (liraglutide)

  • Saxenda® (liraglutide) is a daily injectable GLP-1 indicated for the treatment of overweight and obesity.

RYBELSUS® (semaglutide)

  • Rybelsus® (semaglutide) is a pill—not an injection. Rybelsus is an oral GLP-1 medication and is taken daily. It is indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and safe and effective for weight loss.
