Weight Loss Service
WHAT WE OFFER
Medical Weight Loss
Being overweight is a medical condition that now has effective nonsurgical treatment options.
How It Works:
Book an appointment with one of our licensed nurse practitioners. Your provider will perform a comprehensive medical exam to determine if a weight loss plan with prescription medications is right for you. Our program requires regular visits and monitoring.
The cost of the visit/program are paid out of pocket, while your health insurance generally covers the lab tests and medications.
If you do not qualify for medications with use of your health insurance, there are other alternative prescriptions available which can be discussed on a case by case basis.
What are Semaglutide, Wegovy, Saxenda, Ozempic, and Mounjaro?
These medications are Glucagon- Like Peptides (GLP-1). These GLP-1 medications are effective in weight loss by delaying gastric emptying and enhancing the sensation of fullness, thus decreasing food intake. These agents have been successfully studied in obese, non-diabetic patients. Weight loss results can be seen as early as 1-2 weeks into treatment.
What are the Side effects?
Side effects are usually mild and may include: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness, bloating, belching, gas, and heartburn.
Weight Loss Medications
A once-weekly injectable GLP-1 indicated for the treatment of overweight and obesity.
Once-weekly injectable GLP-1 indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and is safe and effective for weight loss.
A once-weekly injectable medication that works similarly to the other drugs in the GLP-1 family, but is also an agonist for a second peptide hormone called GIP. It is indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and is safe and effective for weight loss.
Saxenda® (liraglutide) is a daily injectable GLP-1 indicated for the treatment of overweight and obesity.
Rybelsus® (semaglutide) is a pill—not an injection. Rybelsus is the only oral GLP-1 medication currently on the market, and is taken daily. It is indicated for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and is safe and effective for weight loss.
